Cialis is used to treat erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, in men. This is when a man cannot get, or maintain, a hard-erect penis suitable for sexual activity. The active ingredient in Cialis tablets, tadalafil, belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. Following sexual stimulation, Cialis works by helping the blood vessels in your penis to relax, allowing the flow of blood into your penis. The result of this is improved erectile function. Cialis will only treat erectile dysfunction if you are sexually aroused. You and your partner will need to engage in foreplay, just as you would if you were not taking a medicine for erectile dysfunction. Cialis does not give you a 36-hour erection - it simply allows you to achieve an erection with stimulation within this time period.
Cialis is also used to treat urinary symptoms associated with a common condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia. This is when the prostate gland gets bigger with age. Symptoms include difficulty in starting to pass urine, a feeling of not completely emptying the bladder and a more frequent need to pass urine even at night. Cialis improves blood flow to, and relaxes the muscles of, the prostate and bladder which may reduce symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Cialis is not intended for use by women or by children under the age of 18 years.

- Headaches
- Back pain
- Flushed skin
- Heartburn
- Indigestion
- Nasal congestion
- Muscle pain
By far the most common side effect of Cialis is a mild to moderate headache. It works through helping blood vessels to dilate, thus increasing blood flow, and that rapid change in blood flow extends to the brain — an event that can lead to a headache. Even this, the most common side effect, is rarer than a 1-in-5 occurrence.
After that, as noted, the most common side effects include back pain, flushed skin, heartburn, indigestion, nasal congestion, and muscle pain. You have maybe a 1-in-20 chance of seeing one of these side effects, with the risk increasing with the strength of the Cialis dosage. Any of these symptoms should fully pass within 48 hours of taking Cialis Tadalafil, so if they linger past that or are particularly bad, consult a doctor.
Serious side effects can include serious sensory problems, An erection that won’t subside, pain in the heart and/or chest. For symptoms of this rarity, you’re looking at something between 1-in-100 and 1-in-1000, meaning that most healthy men are unlikely to experience any of these issues.
You should not take Cialis together with any other treatments for erectile dysfunction. You should not take more than 1 Cialis tablet per day
If while taking Cialis tablets you have an erection which lasts for over 4 hours, then you must consult a doctor immediately. If you delay receiving treatment for a prolonged erection (priapism) for over six hours, this could cause damage to the erectile tissue in the penis and irreversible ED.
If when taking Cialis tablets you experience a partial decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes, you must cease taking the medication and consult your doctor immediately.
Tell your doctor if you have or have had any of the following medical conditions:
- liver or kidney problems
- heart problems or if you have had a heart attack
- blood vessel problems
- sickle cell anaemia (an abnormality of red blood cells)
- multiple myeloma (cancer of the bone marrow)
- leukaemia (cancer of the blood cells)
- any deformation of the penis (such as angulation, cavernosal fibrosis or Peyronie's disease)
- loss of vision in one or both eyes

With a number of ED drugs available, many men are unsure which medication is right for them. The main advantage of Cialis Tadalafil over Sildenafil, Viagra, Levitra, and Spedra, is the length of action. Cialis allows for a much more spontaneous and natural sex life, thanks to the 36-hour window afforded this medication.Cialis can have an effect in as little as 30 minutes in some men and the effects can last for up to 36 hours, allowing it to be used just before sex or taken discreetly well in advance. This flexibility in dosing makes it a popular choice with men looking for an ED treatment that fits into their life.
You should only take Cialis Tadalafil if you are experiencing ED and should not take it for the purpose of sexual enhancement.
Over 80% of men will notice a firmer and longer-lasting erection. If Tadalafil doesn’t work for you the first time around, it could nevertheless be more effective next time. If you do not see an improvement in your ability to achieve and maintain an erection while taking Tadalafil, then you should speak with your doctor.Your doctor may then change the dosage of Tadalafil you are taking, or refer you to a different form of ED medication.
